Select from a variety of quality insurance products including workers’ compensation, general liability and life & health plans now available through Matrix Insurance Agency.

Workers’ Compensation

A schedule of benefits payable to an employee by his employer without regard to liability, required by state law in the case of injury, disability, or death as a result of occupational hazards.

Commercial General Liability

General liability coverage may be written as a monoline policy or part of a commercial package.  “CGL” now means “commercial” general liability forms which have replaced the earlier “comprehensive” general liability forms.  The latest forms include all sublines, provide very broad coverage, and two variations are available – “Occurrence” or “Claims-Made” coverage.

Life & Health

Life and Health insurance policies protect against loss by death, sickness or bodily injury with a variety of products to fit each need.

Commercial Auto

A type of insurance which protects the insured against losses involving automobiles.  Different coverages can be purchased depending on the needs and wants of the insured, e.g., the Liability coverages of Bodily Injury Liability, Property Damage Liability, and Medical Payments, and the Physical Damage coverages of Collision and Comprehensive.

Property Insurance

Insurance that indemnifies a person with an interest in physical property for its loss or the loss of its income producing abilities.  This definition encompasses all lines of insurance written by Property and Inland Marine insurers and can also include certain kinds of insurance written by Casualty insurers, e.g. Burglary and Plate Glass coverages.

Umbrella / Excess

A coverage basically affording high limit coverage in excess of the limits of the primary policies as well as additional liability coverages.  These additional coverages are usually subject to a substantial self-insured retention.  The term “umbrella” is derived from the fact that it is a separate policy over and above any other basic Liability policies the insured may have.

Professional Liability

Professional Liability protects against Errors and Omissions exposure existing for many types of businesses, including law and accounting, travel agencies and telephone exchanges.

Surety

A surety bond guarantees that a principal will carry out the obligation for which he is bonded.  A surety bond is most often issued to a contractor, a person seeking a license or permit, or someone involved in a court case.
